Tobi.com interviews David Lim of Kasil Jeans; Denim Blues
Tobi.com, formerly Azalea Online, interviews David Lim, creator of the L.A.-based Kasil Jean. Last year, I received quite a number of replies suggesting I should buy Kasil jeans after I posted several times about the bad behavior of Rock & Republic CEO Michael Ball and my desire to find a new brand of "cruelty free" denim.
Today, I just may take a closer look at Kasil as I need to replace the pair of Paige Premium Denim jeans I had bought last summer. I found a great pair of low-rise Laurel Canyon jeans at Bloomingdale's that featured a wonderful dark blue, brushed style of denim called Waterfall. Unfortunately, the jeans were crafted from lightweight denim, which I should have known would be trouble from my past experience of a pair of Rock & Republic lightweight denim jeans. The pair had a life span of about a year before they began to wear thin and become filled with holes and rips.
On my way home from a friend's house one evening several weeks ago, my jeans ripped near the butt after I had lifted my leg up. My tailor was unable to adequately repair them so now I have an expensive pair of "destroyed" jeans. I still wear them, but they've been relegated to weekend wear. I long for my twin pairs of low-rise, creased leg, Flare 7's that I had worn on a near daily basis for two-plus years.
I just want to find a good pair of boot-cut jeans that I can wear with ballerinas or tennies that will last a couple of years. I own several pairs of Rock & Republic jeans, but reserve them for heels as they sport a long inseam. I do have a pair of Citizens of Humanity that fit the bill, but are beginning to fade and show signs of wear. Maybe I should look at Levi's Red Label. I'd be open to suggestions.

I'm a big fan of Joe's Jeans and Taverniti. They do wonders for tushy perkiness and Joes has a huge variety of styles.
